Reforming Gang Culture and Aggression
Aggressive behavior is something which can wreak havoc in peoples lives particularly with children. It can have a negative impact on social connections and society as a whole. When relationships break down things can become very difficult. Gang culture can commonly be a natural transition for kids acting out aggressively as it offers the benefits of strength in numbers, leadership and direction. Unfortunatelly this culture also revolves around crime, drug abuse and violence. This becomes the group identity and it's very difficult walk away once established. In fact walking away could result in a physical attack so the stakes are very high. That's why we want to catch kids early and show them possible ways to escape gangs.

We use martial arts to redirect aggressive behaviors into a controlled environment . We then use this to lay the foundations for building stronger relationships and finding alternative solutions to deal with anger or desires to adopt a gang ethos. We offer a better alternative. A team and a place to practice combat sports while learning how to approach conflict in a way that isn't destructive. Building relationships through goal setting as a group we offer the appeal of a gang but in a positive direction helping develop a sense of comradery. The group identity then revolves around personal development, respect for others, discipline, integrity, compassion and developing one's physical health.

We are great believers that acts of discipline should be shown and not enforced. That's why we don't use punishment based tactics and prefer a positive reinforcement approach to training.
